Procurement Manager Staffing for Data Centre Projects
What a Procurement Manager does
A Procurement Manager owns the procurement schedule: package strategy, tender lists, negotiation and letting of subcontracts, and the early ordering of long-lead equipment such as switchgear, UPS systems, generators and cooling plant.
On Data Centre programmes procurement is a programme-critical discipline, not a back-office one. Delivery dates for major plant frequently drive the commissioning sequence and therefore the handover date.
The role works with the commercial, planning and design teams to align specification freeze, order dates and cash flow, and manages supplier performance through to delivery.
Typical range
£60–85K base (permanent) or £400–525 / day on contract

- Secure long-lead MEP plant against programme dates
- Manage supplier performance, terms and delivery risk
- Align procurement with design freeze and cash flow
