Scheduler Staffing for Data Centre Projects
What a Scheduler does
A Scheduler builds and maintains the project's CPM schedule in Primavera P6, capturing the logic between civil, structural, MEP rough-in, equipment delivery and commissioning milestones. On a Data Centre program the equipment lead times and commissioning sequence (L1 through L5) drive the critical path more than the building shell does, and the schedule needs to reflect that dependency correctly.
Weekly, the Scheduler collects progress from superintendents and subcontractors, updates the schedule, reforecasts the critical and near-critical paths, and produces the reporting the project team and owner rely on. On multi-hall builds they track resource loading and hall-to-hall sequencing so trades are not double-booked.
Strong Schedulers push back on optimistic durations, flag float erosion early, and can defend the logic of the schedule in a room with the general contractor's project executive.
Typical range
£55–75K base (permanent) or £350–500 / day on contract
