What a Scheduling Manager does
A Scheduling Manager leads a team of Schedulers and Planning Engineers across a Data Centre portfolio, setting the standard for P6 coding, baseline management, update cadence and reporting. They own the escalation path when a project's critical path moves materially, coordinating with the project team on recovery options before it reaches the owner.
The role includes direct hiring and development of scheduling staff, portfolio-level resource planning across competing project demands, and representing the scheduling function in leadership and owner meetings. Scheduling Managers often build the reporting templates and dashboards the wider project controls function relies on.
This is a management role with real accountability: the manager is judged on whether the portfolio's schedules are trustworthy, not just whether they exist.
